Norbury Park Estate – Staffordshire – Property Manager/Surveyor (Part Time)

We are looking for an experienced Property Manager/Surveyor to manage and deliver our growing portfolio of residential properties and estate development projects. Approx 20 hours per week (flexible/negotiable).

The Opportunity

This is a wonderful opportunity for a property manager or surveyor with a passion for rural property and redevelopment to make their mark. A permanent position, the role will be perfect for someone looking to apply their skills and accumulated experience whilst enjoying the flexibility of part-time working.

Based mainly in the estate office you will be looking after residential and other properties, as well as helping to progress and deliver a range of exciting estate development and diversification projects including holiday lettings. The role will involve frequent site visits across the estate, dealing with tenants, contractors, suppliers and the wider Estate team.

Norbury Park Estate

Norbury Park is a privately owned estate in rural west Staffordshire, situated between Newport, Eccleshall and Stafford. Best known for our pioneering work in woodland management and climate research through the BIFoR FACE project, we also have a portfolio of interesting and historic properties and a pipeline of self-funded development projects.

The Estate is an open and welcoming place with a culture of innovation and quality, and we strive for excellent relations with all our tenants and stakeholders. We regularly receive visiting groups from Universities and Colleges, government agencies, charities and VIPs.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Experience in hands-on property management – ideally on a rural estate – including tenancies, maintenance, compliance and utilities
A high level of understanding and experience of traditional buildings, including identifying problems and supervising repairs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starting, open and positive attitude
An ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage own workload
Good IT capabilities including MS Office
Ability to fit into and complement a small, friendly team
Experience of property refurbishments
Holiday lets experience
An understanding of low-carbon technologies

Whilst not essential, they might also have:

Experience of other types of rural diversification
Land management experience
GIS mapping skills
MRICS or FAAV qualification
