A varied rural surveying role within an independent North West property practice. You will work directly with landowners and farmers, with autonomy, support, and clear opportunities to grow as the business develops.
North West England
Full time or part time considered
Flexible and hybrid working available
We are looking to appoint a Rural Surveyor to join a growing, independent property practice with a strong and expanding reputation across the North West.
Wignalls is not a corporate machine. We are a professional, multi disciplinary firm built on long term client relationships, high standards, and doing things properly. Our rural work sits at the heart of what we do and continues to grow in both scale and quality.
The role
This is a genuinely broad rural surveying role, including:
• Estate and property management
• Rural and agricultural valuations
• Landlord and tenant matters
• Leases and licences
• Property and land agency
• Crop loss and compensation claims
• Renewables and infrastructure related work
• Grant, stewardship, and countryside management advice where relevant
You will work directly with landowners, farmers, and private clients, often over many years. The role offers real responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to build trusted client relationships.
How we work
We recognise that good surveyors do their best work when they are trusted.
We offer:
• Hybrid working between home, office, and site
• Flexible working patterns where appropriate
• Supportive systems without micromanagement
• A collaborative team environment
We value professionalism, communication, and consistency rather than presenteeism.
About you
You are likely to be:
• Ideally MRICS or working towards qualification
• Experienced in rural professional work
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients
• Organised, commercially aware, and pragmatic
• Someone who takes pride in their work and reputation
You do not need to fit a rigid mould. We are more interested in capability, attitude, and how you work with clients and colleagues.
What we offer
• A genuine long term career, not just a role
• Exposure to a wide range of quality rural work
• Real opportunity to shape your position as the business grows
• Competitive salary and benefits
• A clear five year plan and ambition to grow sustainably
• A VERY strong salary, level of which will depend on the person
Most importantly, you will be part of a business where your contribution is visible, valued, and trusted.
