Rural Estate Surveyor – Maternity Cover
Englefield Estate, Berkshire
We are seeking someone to provide maternity cover on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the management of the diverse Englefield Estate, extending to approximately 14,000 acres in Berkshire and Hampshire, which is part of a larger property and land business with other interests in London and Scotland.

The Position
Reporting to the Head of Rural Property & Land, we’re looking for a self-motivated and commercially astute rural land management professional to assist with the day-to-day running of its property enterprises. This will include a wide range of interesting work including the letting and management of a range of agricultural, commercial, and residential property, rural planning, landlord and tenant matters, grants, renewables, and many other matters across a diverse rural portfolio.
The Candidate
The successful candidate would ideally be a member of the RICS with a few years’ experience in rural estate management, either resident on an estate or based in a company and with an understanding of private client owners’ needs. Applications are also encouraged from those with more limited but relevant experience. Being a member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) would be desirable but is not essential.
Due to the wide variety of work, you will be capable of taking direct responsibility for some of the general day-to-day duties of managing a landed estate and work independently with minimum supervision.
It’s important that you are a strong team player with good people skills and a friendly manner, able to build relationships with staff, tenants, and the owners’ family. You will have excellent IT skills, good attention to detail and be able to deal with a wide variety of tasks in a timely manner.
