This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Rural Surveyor to take on a broad Senior Land Agent role with significant responsibility across estate planning, property management, rural diversification, environmental schemes and operational delivery.
The Job
We are seeking a Senior Land Agent to support the Property & Estates Executive in delivering the Estate's long-term strategy and day-to-day management.
This is a varied role combining strategic estate management with operational oversight, landlord and tenant matters, environmental initiatives, forestry management and property development.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of the Estate's long-term strategy and masterplan
- Managing the day to day operation of a diverse rural estate portfolio including farmland, forestry, property and environmental assets
- Managing a diverse range of direct reporting roles
- Leading landlord and tenant matters including lettings, lease negotiations, rent reviews and property management
- Overseeing estate maintenance, security, health & Safety and regulatory compliance
- Developing and managing operational and capital budgets across the Estate
- Identifying and delivering opportunities to enhance income, capital value and operational efficiency
- Progressing planning applications, development projects and asset diversification opportunities
- Managing environmental schemes, grants and sustainability initiatives including SFI, biodiversity and carbon projects
- Overseeing forestry operations and woodland management programmes
- Managing rights of way, utilities, wayleaves, access agreements and other estate matters
- Supporting valuations, capital investment decisions and commercial project assessments
- Maintaining strong relationships with tenants, contractors, agents, advisors and key stakeholders
- Leading the implementation and development of estate management and mapping systems
This role would suit a commercially minded Rural Surveyor who enjoys variety, autonomy and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a substantial private Estate.
What you'll need
MRICS qualified Rural Surveyor (CAAV desirable)
Experience managing diverse rural estates and property portfolios
Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, estate management and rural compliance
Experience and confidence in managing a large team
Commercially minded with excellent communication and negotiation skills
Highly organised, proactive and capable of working autonomously
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estate management systems
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Where you'll be based
This role is based on a private Estate near Thetford IP24 and working across East Anglia and Berkshire
What you'll receive
£62,000 per annum
