Hillhouse Estates are looking for a planning and development professional to support our strategy to drive sustainable growth from our unique land and property assets.
With 30,000 acres of land and multiple business streams this is an exciting role, taking forward our existing pipeline of projects and identifying future diversification opportunities.
You will be working closely with the Estates Director, CEO and Chairman where your expertise will help shape the future of our land and property businesses.

Our portfolio spans rural, residential, commercial and industrial assets, with operations in quarrying, farming, renewable energy, natural capital, hospitality, leisure and property.
The Role
The Land Manager role is central to our strategy of driving sustainable growth and creating long-term value from our land and property assets.
Combining hands-on project management with rural and town planning expertise, you’ll take ownership of our existing project pipeline, as well as identify new opportunities and take them from concept through to delivery.
This is a newly created role, bringing more expertise in-house to strengthen the team and accelerate the wide range of opportunities ahead of us.
What you will be doing
- Drive forward our existing pipeline, including residential and commercial land allocations, solar development, the sale of non-core property assets, development of our natural capital, leisure and hospitality projects.
- Identify diversification opportunities, build the business case for them, and take ownership of viability, budgets and delivery.
- Establish and develop effective relationships with local authority planners, consultants and developers.

What we are looking for
A qualified planning and development professional, with experience across rural, commercial and residential schemes.
- A strong communicator who builds lasting relationships with stakeholders, partners and local communities.
- A strategic thinker who is self-motivated, analytical and highly organised.

- Salary of £50,000 – £65,000 DoE
