Job Title: Qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor
Function: Rural Chartered Surveyor / Valuer
Reports to: Directors
Location: Whitchurch, Shropshire
DESCRIPTION
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor to join our expanding team in Whitchurch, Shropshire.
The successful candidate will work closely with our RICS Valuations team, supporting and undertaking a range of valuation instructions alongside wider rural surveying and land agency work. The role will also involve assisting with the management of a range of rural and commercial property portfolios, compulsory purchase and compensation work, and other rural professional services as required.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated surveyor who is looking to develop their career within a varied rural practice. The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of instructions and clients, providing considerable scope to broaden and develop professional and commercial experience.
Registered Valuer status is preferred but not essential. Candidates with relevant valuation experience and a willingness to develop their valuation expertise will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· To report directly to the directors
· Work closely with the RICS Valuations team on a range of valuation instructions.
· Undertake and assist with valuations across a variety of rural and commercial property and land types.
· Contribute to the preparation of professional valuation reports in accordance with relevant RICS standards and requirements.
· Provide professional surveying and rural land agency expertise across a range of client instructions.
· Undertake and assist with compulsory purchase and compensation instructions.
· Assist with other professional rural surveying instructions as required.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and other professional advisers.
· Contribute to the wider development and growth of the Land Agency and Valuations teams and the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
· RICS qualified.
· RICS Registered Valuer status preferred but not essential.
· FAAV qualification preferred but not essential.
· Relevant degree-level qualification in Rural Estate Management, Rural Land Management, Rural Surveying or a related discipline.
CORE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
· Good all-round knowledge and experience of rural surveying and land agency.
· Relevant valuation experience is desirable.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills.
· Ability to manage multiple instructions and work to deadlines.
· A commercially focused approach with the ability to identify opportunities and provide practical solutions.

SALARY RANGE
£35,000.00 - £50,000.00 per annum, plus package, depending on qualifications and experience.
