An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveyor / Agricultural Liaison Officer (ALO) to join our Major Projects England & Wales Team to work with our client who is in the Water sector.
Savills are looking for a Surveyor / ALO to assist with onsite project work located in the South West of England.
You will be based out of our Taunton office and in our client’s office in Exeter working alongside the Client and Savills’ project teams. To manage and arrange access for surveys relating to the land and being the primary point of contact for landowners/occupiers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Making contact with landowners and occupiers to facilitate the building of a relationship.
- Working alongside and in partnership with Contractor teams.
- Arrange and undertake pre - entry records of condition.
- Liaising with the project survey teams to facilitate safe and timely access.
- Continue to liaise with landowners and occupiers addressing any issues that might arise.
- Keeping landowners advised about construction matters and project requirements.
- Assist the project team in all matters regarding land access.
- Record all interactions with stakeholders and complete data input for weekly/monthly reports.
- Attend necessary project meetings and continuously monitor for any conflicting information that could cause an impact on the landowner.
- Advise the project team of any potential issues in a proactive manner.
- Responsible for the coordination of the required tasks for the project and to help gain the required consent and ensure minimal impact on the landowner.
- Deal with negotiating heads of terms and compensation claims.
- Deliver best practice at all times.

• Sound rural and agricultural knowledge and experience.
• Ideally to have a surveying or agricultural degree and qualification (but not essential).
• Have a full UK driving licence.
• Be an excellent communicator with the willingness to learn and develop.
• Are self -motivated and organised and able to demonstrate that you can work on your own and as part of a team and have a problem solving approach.
• Excellent IT skills and awareness of GIS systems.
• Preference for someone who has previous knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation.
