Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Rural Surveyor, ideally RICS and/or CAAV qualification, to join our rural management team.
As a Rural Surveyor based in the Petworth office, you will be responsible for delivering expert advice across a broad range of rural property matters with focus on private and institutional estate and land management.
You will have relevant experience in the rural property and agricultural sector, with good technical knowledge and experience, including:
· Estate and land management.
· A good understanding of property and land law matters.
· Demonstrate good understanding of landlord and tenant relationships,legislation and best practice guidance.
· Strategic business and asset management.
· A good understanding of valuation principles.
· Have a keen interest in the rural environment.
· Ambitious and positive can-do attitude.
· A team player but able to work on own initiative.
· Ability to solve problems and provide solutions.
· Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in a dynamic working environment and meet deadlines.
· The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to engage, influence and communicate with clients, professionals, and the rural community.
· Demonstrates professional presentation, with a clear style of communication appropriate to the task.
· Demonstrates an understanding of Health and Safety as it applies to the estate management sector.
· Supervise and liaise with contractors.
· Engage and communicate effectively with tenants, licensee and stakeholders.
· Demonstrates the ability to shape their own professional development with help from line manager.
· Preferably MRICS and/or CAAV.
· Strong negotiating and communication skills.
Team overview
Savills Rural Management team provides advice across a broad range of rural matters, including rural property management, valuation, infrastructure, and strategic land management. Our clients include private landowners, farmers, and institutional organisations. The Petworth Rural Management team is made up of over twenty dedicated professionals, each bringing specialist knowledge and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality advice and outcomes. Petworth is a multidisciplinary and in addition to the Rural Management team has professionals working in forestry, arboriculture, building surveying, estate agency, lettings and valuation consultancy.
The wider Rural division operates across the UK, with a network of 37 offices and a number of estate offices from Inverness in the North to Truro in the South-West and Sevenoaks in the South-East.
