About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented RICS Qualified Valuer (MRICS/FRICS – Registered Valuer) to join our Marlborough team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and commercially sound property valuations in accordance with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) standards and the RICS Valuation – Global Standards (“Red Book”).
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse property portfolio, including farms and estates, residential, commercial, and mixed-use assets, providing valuation advice to lenders, investors, developers, corporate clients, and private individuals. Support from graduates and/or less qualifies staff would be available to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake property valuations in compliance with RICS Red Book standards.
- Prepare detailed and well-supported valuation reports for secured lending, IHT planning, acquisition, disposal, financial reporting, and development purposes.
- Analyse market evidence, comparable transactions, and economic trends.
- Provide clear, defensible valuation advice to clients.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails in line with regulatory requirements.
- Support business development through client relationship management and networking.
- Assist with mentoring APC candidates where appropriate.
Key Requirements
- MRICS or FRICS qualification with Registered Valuer status.
- Proven experience in agricultural, residential and/or commercial property valuation.
- Strong understanding of RICS Valuation – Global Standards (Red Book).
- Strong knowledge of the local property market.
- Ability to manage multiple instructions and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of professional integrity and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and valuation software tools.
- Full driving licence and own vehicle.
Desirable Skills
- Ideally 3-5 years + experience in undertaking valuation work.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to generate new business opportunities.
